.: Join Us! :.

To join the Yakima Lodge and be a part of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, you must be a citizen of the United States that is over 21 years of age who believes in God.

You must also be sponsored by an active member of the Elks Lodge, and live in the jurisdiction of the Lodge that you wish to join.

If you know an existing member, ask them to take you to the Yakima Lodge! If you’re new in town or don’t know anyone who is a member – feel free to fill out the Membership Inquiry form at Elks.org!

.: Application Process :.

The application process can take a bit of time, however, the progression is relatively straightforward: Application. Interview. Orientation. Initiation.

Once your application is received at the Yakima Lodge (along with a $50 application fee) it will be read at the next regularly scheduled Lodge meeting.

You will then be invited to attend a brief interview with our Investigative Committee (along with other prospective members). Feel free to ask as many questions as you like during the interview.

Following the interviews, your membership will be voted on during our next regular Lodge meeting.

After the voting process, you (as well as your spouse and sponsor) will be invited to attend an Orientation Dinner where you will learn about the history of The Elks and the Yakima Lodge.

NOTE: We kindly request that all prospective members (and their sponsors) please confirm that they will be in attendance prior to attending the Orientation Dinner.

Following the Orientation Dinner, you will receive an invitation to your initiation!

The Yakima Lodge performs initiations at 7pm on the fourth Tuesday of (nearly) every month. You are encouraged to show up a little early to check-in and prepare for the event.

NOTE: Yearly membership dues are required to be paid at the time of your initiation.

Once initiated as an Elk, you can take part in all the meetings and social functions of the Lodge (including golf)!
